There is also a little inconvenience with autosave messages popping up everytime the server saves for op users ingame, but that can be fixed in the properties. If you use Forge this is probably the way to go. We (The agent and i) figured, if you use Mohist instead of Forge, you can use Forge Mods, with better performance, without the issues with custom commands/chat and also with plugin support. Which sucks but there is a way around it. Also if u use forge you can not use the Webinterfaces chat feature, (chat log+sending messages) which probably enables you to call custom commands like "Backup" from in-game, since those dont work either, you need to use the server console for that.
(ask for Jacob if you need professional help.) About Shockbytes problems: for example, you can not change the timezone and it is set to UTC+0. And even tested different server installations like Forge, Vanilla, PaperMC and Mohist on a custom server himself. Even though he couldn't fix some of Shockbytes problems, he did everything he could. My experience with this agent was probably the best support experience i ever had. But as soon as one of the live chat agents forwarded me to someone who really knew what he was doing everything changed. After that i got no help from some other agents. He probably didnt like, that someone who called for support knew more than him. The first agents i had, really had no idea what they were doing and even kind of pressured me, how i could know more about their service and commands i need to use than the agent himself. The support is fast but when you first write tickets you will probably have a very bad experience if you have a real problem.
Causing players to run into unloaded chunks until the server catches up or worst, even crash the server. This can easily lead to delays in the server, even when not many players are online. And they are using Intel Xeon CPUs that seem to have some issues when you arent using the fastest server type and multiple players move fast. But their CPUs probably arent that great for Minecraft since Minecraft only uses mostly a single core from the cpu. Their internet connection on EU seems to be very good, it feels like a fast ping as i see it and minecraft states max ping for everyone, but i havent run diagnostics tests yet.
First of all, the price is very good, there were some 50% coupons so that you can get a annual 6GB RAM Minecraft server for: First Payment Amount: €77.40EUR Recurring Amount: €154.80EUR So this price for a full year of the service. There were many issues with Shockbyte but also some good parts. Description of my experience: 3 of my friends and i wanted to have a cheap but good forge modded minecraft server for ourself and maybe some friends. If you have some issues, read on, maybe you can fix them from my description, if you have the same as i did. But i wouldnt recommend it if you have many players, since i believe the server couldnt handle that.
Rating: Positive: -good price with discount code -fast internet speeds on EU -fast support -at least one very good support agent Negative: -inherent problems with webinterface panel -many bad support agents -not very good CPUs Summary: While there are many issues, you get a useable platform with crucial features built in for a good price if you can look past some issues and only play with a few friends.
